I definitely recommend staying at Braid Hills Hotel! (Note for reference: I am able bodied so I didn’t need special access but I saw a ramp at the main entrance). Here is a list of things that I really liked: - it has really nice flair/charm, cool traditional atmosphere; - excellent service, really friendly and helpful (!) personnel (I had a luggage problem and the hotel was super nice and helped me out with the circumstances); - nice beds - medium soft/hard; - nice pillows - could be even ortho or smth since they were “heavier” but held a particular form while still adjusting to your head (so not just round fluffy pillow); - nice and warm room (although some of the heaters were stand alone); - enough room to lay out suitcases, a wardrobe, an ironing board, etc.; - the bathroom has non-slip tiles which is a nice touch - you won’t fall down while getting out of the shower; - very clean accommodation - didn’t see dust or whatever. Sheets very freshly washed and crispy; - overall it was a cozy room; - there are a few different bus stops, one of which is directly next to the hotel (you have to go up the stairs tho) which is great!; - kinda expensive compared to continental Europe but compared to other accommodations in Edinburgh it’s a very good price-quality ratio;

If you are looking for a good accommodation away from the buzz of the city and have limited budget this is the place to go to although location is 30mins away from the central part of Edinburgh where most of the attractions are however location of the hotel is still very accessible, there are buses which passes by near the doorstep of the hotel, while there is also a 5 minutes walk options that you can take for a better multiple buses options. Indeed I would recommend this place looking for a comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, there is no lift, thus, if you are a female solo traveler with heavy baggage can be a challenging. Also, receptionists are very accommodating and helpful and in fact upon request they have allowed to extend for an hour the check out time at a Free of Cost , depending on availability check out can be extended for an hour further at a cost.

Very clean room, halls and lobby. The staff were pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good, there were some beautiful views of the surrounding area from the hilltop on which the hotel is built. Plenty of shops and restaurants etc within walking distance as well as a bus stop conveniently situated across the road which leads into the city centre frequently throughout the day. Some parts of the fixtures and carpets etc could do with replacing but I heard a member of staff say that the hotel will receive a refurbishment in the coming year. I chose the hotel as I was travelling by car and wanted somewhere secure to park, which they had, and entering and leaving the city didn't prove difficult at all when I left for Loch Lomond at the end of my stay. I can definitely recommend.

We think the hotel stuff makes this hotel so much better than it is, very polite, helpful. Only because of them the hotel getting 8 points!!!!! The location is very good, big private parking arrond the area!! We really liked the hotel building itself, the castle is gorgeous, but very tired. The food was quite tasty, service very good and the atmosphere too.A small note would be even better if soft music was playing. The price for the night was reasonable. We will definitely come back and pay more if the owner updates and refreshes the inside castle. Thank you.

Great value for money. We loved the location. We had a lovely view from our room and we didn’t even pay for a room with a view. The room was great. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was good as well, me and my friend found something to have each day. We went down to breakfast a bit late (around 9:30 and they stop serving at 10). They still had plenty of options left and the food was still warm. All in all, great value for money. We had a great time. Thank you very much
